Livestock: A variety of livestock to suit the level of training of your dog. Hair sheep, wool sheep, and goats are available.
Location: Sheepherding Lessons are held at GemStar Ranch, located in Leona Valley, CA. Leona Valley is located just 45-60 minutes north of Los Angeles, and 20 miles north of Santa Clarita. Easy to get to, Leona Valley is at an elevation of 3,500 ft.
Facility: GemStar Ranch offers everything from: Round Pen for starting puppies, 120' x 200' arena, 2 acre field, and large fields with 1000' outruns possible.
All herding breeds are welcome. Some herding breeds include: Bearded Collies, Corgis, Shetland Sheepdogs, Collies, Border Collies, German Shepherd Dogs, Kelpies, McNabs, English Shepherds, Old English Sheepdogs, Belgian Sheepdogs, Belgian Shepherds, and Australian Shepherds.
